Information about airline suggestions, hotel accommodations, and getting around Columbus are included on this page.  On related pages, you can read more about things to do in Columbus, or great restaurants and bars to check out.  Directions for the wedding events are available here.

Airlines

Columbus is a hub for America West Airlines, so direct flights are available from Boston and many other cities in the eastern United States.  United has flights that connect through Denver, Washington DC and Chicago.  Delta has short-hop flights from their Cincinnati hub.

Hotel Accommodations

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Adam's Mark Hotel on North 3rd Street.   Please make your reservations early, the hotel will only hold the rooms until October 1st.  Call 1-800-444-ADAM for reservations, and be sure to mention the Louisa Wood/Tom Shields wedding to qualify for the special wedding rate.  The hotel is centrally located in the heart of downtown, and one block from the reception location.

Directions to the hotel from the airport: Follow airport exit signs straight onto 670 West for about 3 miles.  Take 3rd Street exit (a left exit, stay in 2nd lane from left) and go South on 3rd Street (it's one way).  The Adam's Mark will be on your left after the intersection with Gay Street (about 4 blocks).

Getting Around Columbus

If you do not want to rent a car, there is shuttle service available to the Adam's Mark hotel.  The cost is $8.50 per person, and it leaves every hour on the half hour.  Call 614-476-3004 for more details.  A taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost about $13.  The ceremony is a few miles away from the hotel, so please make arrangements with someone else to catch a ride to St. Alban's (or email us for help).  The reception will be one block away from the hotel, so you'll be close to home then.

While the hotel is centrally located, many of Columbus' attractions are about a 15-20 minute walk away.  Columbus has quite a maze of highways to take you to the more remote locations, such as the zoo.   Fortunately, the Short North, North Market, German Village, the City Center (mall), COSI (the Center of Science and Industry) and the Columbus Museum of Art are all within one mile of the hotel.  A car could be more convenient to get to these locations, along with some of the recommended restaurants, but it's not necessary.
