| This page has logistical details about the wedding day. The ceremony begins at 6pm, with the music starting at 5:30. The reception will immediately follow the ceremony and go on into the night - be sure to bring your dancing shoes! On another page, you can get directions to all events. You can also see the ceremony program, which includes the readings and vows, and read about the attendants. During the day, you will have plenty of time to explore Columbus and all that it has to offer. The ceremony will be held at 6pm at St. Alban's Church in Bexley. The church has great meaning to Louisa and her mother's family. Louisa's great-grandparents, Emma Cooper and David Harris Thomas, were two of the six founding members of the church. St. Alban's is known for its bright red doors. Hopefully these will help you find the church on October 23rd! Before the ceremony, a quartet will play a selection of classical music (Thanks to Alvin Wen and Louisa's Dad for selecting the pieces). The music will begin at 5:30 pm with the ceremony starting immediately after at 6:00 pm. We enjoyed writing the vows that we will exchange during the ceremony. While the ceremony should be on the short side, we have included a few readings that express our commitment to each other and exciting anticipation for our life ahead. We hope that you will enjoy being a part of this intimate ceremony. The reception will be held at The Columbus Athenaeum at 32 N. Fourth Street. The evening's festivities will be held in the Olympian Ballroom, which is directly in front of you as you enter the building through the front. The Athenaeum was built in the turn of the 20th century by a secret male society. Three years ago, after many years of sitting empty, the building was purchased by a preservationist group and renovated. The Athenaeum re-opened last winter, so this should be a new place for most of the guests. The Rick Brunetto Big Band, a seventeen piece swing band, will provide a lively selection of music for us throughout the night. We're going to try to wear out the soles of your shoes! Please feel free to ask Rick Brunetto for your favorites. If the band does not know your request, Ron Clark will be our DJ while the band takes a few breaks and there is hardly a song that Ron doesn't know! We will provide cameras on each table for your use. While we wish that we could be a part of all of the fun during the reception, those already-betrothed family and friends tell us that we will be rushing around. So, please snap plenty of pictures of everyone at your table - and not just sitting around the table, we are looking forward to the action shots. |
